The goal of the 2 nd Warren Workshop on Glycoconjugate Analysis 2008 will be to bring unanimity to the diverse analytical techniques applied to sequence carbohydrate polymers. The motive is focused by the increasing needs for structural understanding and the demands for automation and high throughput (HTP) analysis. Fundamental to both the goal and motive will be to insure molecular continuity and a detailed understanding of structure with all concerns for sensitivity. This workshop brings together experts in the discipline to establish a working framework and a course of action.
The precise AIM of the workshop will be to provide researchers with sensitive and comprehensive analytical strategies that account for all aspects of oligosaccharide structure and supporting tools for HTP analysis. The major topics for consideration will be: structural detail, high throughput analysis, glycoproteomics and glycolipidomics, and bioinformatics. A central objective will be to establish benchmarks and goals to be shared, challenged, and improved.
The conference will take place in the University of New Hampshire Durham campus.
The workshop is named in honor of Dr. Charles E. Warren who actively pursued and advocated the notion of synergy in his research efforts and associations. Dr. Warren was killed in a tragic paragliding accident on July 30, 2005.
